Extreme low frequencies used for effects, such as rumbles from engines, earthquakes, explosions and so on, are normally recorded onto a separated track and sent to the subwoofer system as a separate signal, containing pre-filtered information.
All drivers are selected to give the maximum performances at the lowest frequency.
